Meet Kojjo

Kojjo Opoku-Reeves
Kojjo Opoku-Reeves is a native of Ghana, an Artist, Educator and Cultural ambassador. He is a graduate of the College of Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Passionate about the arts, he’s served in different strategic roles and has been instrumental in promoting and establishing arts organizations and ministries in Africa and the United States over the years. Kojjo has a wealth of experience working as Director of Arts for The Life Church,early childhood professional and Assistant director for New Dimensions Learning Center,Dance Instructor at Divine Dance Institute,Umbiance Center for the Performing Arts and ,All That and Jazz. and also running a successful home school program through the Heritage Village Christian Academy LLC.
He is the founder and director of Heritage Village Project,a 501 ( c 3) not-for-profit organization which partners with individuals and organizations to provide mentorship, community arts and socio-economic development programs to promote cultural specific education,social cohesion, diversity and bridge the gap among African diasporans. Heritage Village Project also promotes, facilitates organized individual, family and group travel tours and cultural exchange programs to Africa.
He is the Artistic director for The Heritage Village Project (African Drum & Dance Ensemble).The Ensemble through private, community and corporate performances showcases the beauty and significance of drumming ,dance,theater and storytelling in African culture , promoting unity and preserving valuable traditions for younger generations.
A philanthropist, Kojjo also launched the Read Across the country initiative in partnership with Culture Encounters to provide free books, educational materials, equipment, scholarships and build libraries to support local communities across Africa. He enjoys mentoring and supporting young people to fully utilize their God given gifts to positively impact and transform their communities and humanity.
An Arts Consultant, he facilitates conferences, virtual and in person workshops ,summer camps, productions ,exhibitions,classes and seminars for schools and organizations throughout the year.He is also a member of the Prince William County Arts Council. He is married to his college friend Awura and blessed with five Godsent children . They serve together in the children and youth department at their local church Action Chapel in Springfield, Northern Virginia.He strongly believes whatever he is and hopes to be is by the grace of God.
